About the job

We are a team of 38 bakers, confectioners, production assistants and drivers that make around 7500- 13.000 donuts a day for around 10 locations across Berlin. As our Assistant Bakery Manager, you lead our Berlin bakery team day-to-day from the production floor to the schedule to the people on it. You step up when the Bakery Manager isn't there, and you're the one your team looks to for direction, coaching and problem-solving.

You're part of our Bakery Management Team, which means you own the bakery's performance: making sure production runs efficiently and profitably, our donuts meet our quality standards every day, and they get to the shops on time. Just as important, you build a workplace that your team, partners and community are proud to be part of.

You work closely with the Operations Team to push our donut production forward, and you're present on the floor every day, splitting your time between leading your team, quality control, solving facility problems, and the admin that keeps it all running.

Your tasks

• Lead the production floor day-to-day, keeping the team focused and the work on track.

• Step in as leader on the Bakery Manager's days off, covering scheduling and daily decisions.

• Coach, onboard and develop your team, including leading trial shifts for new hires.

• Own quality control and food safety, keeping HACCP compliance second nature.

• Drive continuous improvement in quality, workflow and waste reduction.

• Manage inventory, ordering and contractor relationships to keep everything running.

• Build the monthly schedule with the Bakery Manager, in line with the wage budget.

• Be the link between your team, HR, Front of House and customers on catering orders.

About you

• Natural leader with hands-on experience leading large teams across shifts ideally in food, hospitality or retail.

• Completed apprenticeship, vocational training or degree relevant to the role.

• Strong English and German - fluency in both is a plus.

• Strong organizational skills, you can juggle production, people and paperwork 

• Comfortable with numbers and basic IT tools, including Google Sheets.

• Familiar with German food safety and workplace regulations, with hands-on HACCP experience; basic knowledge of German employment law is a plus.

• Flexible and ready to grow as your role expands with the company.

• Available for early mornings and night shifts — bakery hours aren't 9-5.

• Holds a ‘Rote Karte’ and First Aid certification.

• Valid driver's license.

• Eligible for security clearance under §7 LuftSiG

We don’t expect you to check all the qualification boxes and encourage you to apply if you have experience in some of the areas.

• Full-time position with 37.5 hours per week

• Full-time salary of EUR 3692 according to pay group 8
